Special category data

We do not require sensitive personal data (such as health information) to use the Services. However, if you voluntarily include sensitive information in messages, applications, or documents, you acknowledge you are choosing to share it. We recommend you avoid sharing sensitive data unless necessary.

How we use your data

  • Provide and operate the Services (accounts, profiles, listings, messaging, applications).

  • Consent: where you choose to provide optional data or allow certain cookies/preferences.
  • Legal obligation: where we must comply with applicable laws.

We may share your information in the following situations:

  • With other users: depending on your role and settings, certain profile details, listings, and application content may be visible to other users.
  • Service providers: hosting, analytics, email delivery, customer support tools, and security services (under contract and confidentiality).
  • Legal & safety: if required by law, to protect rights, prevent harm, or investigate abuse.
  • Business changes: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale (with appropriate safeguards).

International transfers

If we transfer personal data outside the UK, we use appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), UK Addendum to EU SCCs, or other lawful mechanisms, as applicable.

Security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your data, such as encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and logging/monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. You may request deletion of your account, subject to legitimate retention needs (e.g., abuse prevention, legal compliance).

Your rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, and request portability of your personal data. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise these rights, contact support@bridgeapp.uk.
